General: Troy Bayliss to headline Sydney Motorcycle Show

SYDNEY MOTORCYCLE SHOW:

Visitors to the 2009 Sydney Motorcycle Show will not only get to check out the latest offerings from the two wheel world, they will also get the chance to rub shoulders with some of its biggest identities.

Three-time World Superbike (WSBK) champion Troy Bayliss will headline the guest list at the November 20-22 event, taking place at Sydney Olympic Park.

A powerhouse in the top-tier WSBK category for many years, Bayliss announced his retirement at the end of the 2008 season, seeing out his professional motorcycling career on top of the table.

The Australian’s schedule has only slowed slightly in 2009, taking part in various testing programs for Ducati while also pursuing a new-found interest in four wheels, namely, V8 Supercars.

Sydney Motorcycle Show Event Manager, Mark Petersen was excited to welcome Bayliss to Australia’s premier motorcycle showcase event.

“Troy is an incredible talent and a fantastic ambassador for the motorcycle racing and the Australians competing within it all around the world,” said Petersen.

“He is one of our most decorated riders and we are excited to welcome him ahead of the Sydney Motorcycle Show. He joined us as a special guest earlier in the year on the Gold Coast and had hundreds of fans lining up for an autograph and a photo.

“He will be at the event on Friday and Saturday, with a timetable of appearances to be released shortly.”

All show features, including meet and greets and various Action Arena demonstrations, are included as part of the value-packed admission price.

Tickets can be purchased at the venue and cost $13 for children (5-15 years) and seniors, $18 for adults and $46 for two adults and two children.

The event opens at 10am each morning, Friday November 20 through to Sunday November 22.
