ASBK: Insure My Ride to support Australian Superbike Open

INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP:

International Entertainment Group (IEG) is pleased to announce Insure My Ride as the naming rights sponsor for the Australian Superbike Open, to be held in conjunction with the V8 Supercar L&H 500 at Phillip Island in three weeks time.

Graeme Browne, Executive Manager for Insure My Ride, said the Australian Superbike Open is sure to be a great spectacle for fans of both superbike racing, and motorsport in general.

“Insure My Ride is delighted to be involved in this initiative by the promoters of the ASBK, which marks the return of two and four wheel racing on the same program.” said Graeme Browne.

“Our naming rights sponsorship will expose our product to a new market and it also demonstrates our commitment to Australia’s premier motorcycle category.”

“I’m sure the speed and agility of the superbikes will impress the crowds, particularly those who are not familiar with our sport.”

Indeed, superbike rider Wayne Maxwell’s qualifying time for the first ASBK round at Phillip Island in March was over half a second faster than Jamie Whincup’s fastest lap in qualifying for the Driver B race at last year’s L&H 500. (Whincup’s 1min 33.317 compared to Maxwell’s 1min 32.720)

The Insure My Ride Australian Superbike Open is a national open event that involves practice and qualifying on Friday, with the popular 1-lap dash Superpole format and first 10-lap race on Saturday. The second 10-lap race will be held on Sunday.

All event and ticketing information can be found at the dedicated IMR Australian Superbike Open website www.australiansuperbikeopen.com.au.
