MotoGP: Iveco naming rights sponsor for Australian Grand Prix

AUSTRALIAN MOTORCYCLE GRAND PRIX:

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation today announced Iveco (Industrial Vehicles Corporation) as the new naming rights sponsor of the 2009 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

The new partnership teams a world leader in transport services with one of the world’s premier motorcycle racing events, at Phillip Island on October 16 – 18.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Drew Ward, said the new alliance would help to deliver another world-class event to Victoria.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the global trucking icon Iveco as the major sponsor of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. It couldn’t be a better time to get involved with what is set to be yet another blockbuster event at Phillip Island,” he said.

Iveco is an international company that operates professional transport services in a global market.

Based in Dandenong, Victoria, Iveco Trucks Australia manufactures and distributes light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles for the Australian road transport industry and has been part of Australia’s way of life for almost 100 years.

Iveco Managing Director, Giorgio Gallia, said the new partnership with MotoGP presents a great opportunity for Iveco Trucks within Australia and internationally.

“Iveco has manufactured over 230,000 trucks in Australia and we wanted to partner a highly successful Australian event,” he said.

“This sponsorship is a further commitment by Iveco to the Victorian economy and the people of Victoria.”
