Off-Road: Australian Senior Trophy Team up to third at ISDE

MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA:

The 2009 Wellard Australian International Six Days Enduro Team has put in another solid performance on the fourth day of competition in Figueira da Foz in Portugal.

The Senior Trophy Team again performed well, with five of our six team riders now entrenched inside the top-35 and the team movin into third spot overall.

Glenn Kearney was the biggest mover for the Aussies, jumping eight places from 40th after day three to 32nd after day four.

Toby Price dropped back one spot to 16th, while Chris Hollis remained in 23rd position Outright – despite a few issues in the final test which will require some further work early on day five.

Jarrod Bewley leapt into the top-30 to be 28th after four days, while Stefan Merriman (25th) and Kirk Hutton (58th) are heading for Gold Medals.

The Women’s Team are still well placed after both Jemma Wilson (fourth – Women’s Class) and Alison Parker (fifth – Women’s Class) managed to climb 10 positions each in the Outright standings.

Jacquie Jones managed to jump 25 spots to be 308th Outright and on track to reach her pre-event goal of finishing all six days.

Of the Junior Trophy Team riders, Geoff Braico continues to lead the charge – storming into the top-50 to be 48th with two days of competition remaining.

NickBeattie (60th) and Andrew Lloyd (169th) are the other Junior Team riders – Lloyd continuing to leapfrog riders after his bad luck on day one, and jumping another 24 spots on day four.

Mitch Harper (103rd) looks set to finish his first ever ISDE event, while Mitch Bowen (131st) has been solid all week in his second shot at riding a six-day.
