WSBK: Buy a ticket to the Phillip Island round for Christmas

Are you stuck for a Christmas gift idea this festive season? If so, grab a ticket to the Superbike World Championship 2010 season opener at Phillip Island and spread some Christmas cheer.

Australia kicks of the season with round one on 26-28 February, where a superstar field of the globe’s best production bike racers will be assembled, with Australia’s Troy Corser (BMW), Chris Vermeulen (Kawasaki) , Andrew Pitt (BMW)  and Broc Parkes (Honda) flying the Aussie flag.

This is a three-day weekend of pure world class motorcycle racing, with grids packed to capacity and the World Supersport Championship and four national classes backing the top line World Superbike class.

There are great deals to be had with pre-event purchasers saving on gate prices. And with a Sunday race day ticket just $70* for general admission, a ticket to the World Superbikes is the type of present that won’t blow your Christmas gift budget!

Here are some options from the Australian WSBK round organisers:

  • A three day ticket to the world superbikes – general admission access on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $130*.
  • Or for a real treat, splash out and buy a BAR SBK ticket for $240*. This is a three day pass that gives access to four undercover and licensed viewing locations at the best locations around the circuit  like the Start / Finish Line, Turn 1, Siberia and Lukey Heights!   You can move around the circuit at your leisure, with your BAR SBK pass allowing you access to prime viewing spots at any time over the three days. To ensure comfort for all BAR SBK members, only a limited number of these tickets are sold.
  • And if you need to buy up big, or a few of you think a ticket to the World Supers is a perfect Christmas gift, pre-purchase seven, three-day tickets or seven BAR SBK tickets and receive one free ticket of the same value.

There will be six superscreens located trackside so no-one misses a second of the action.  It’s a bike friendly event, with fans allowed to ride their bikes through the outfield, pull up, get comfortable and enjoy the action trackside.  And to ensure a really laid back weekend, you can pitch your tent at the circuit campground ** just near Southern Loop and chill out with great views, an ocean breeze, no traffic hassles and great bands playing each night.

So solve your Christmas shopping nightmare in the next ten minutes and go online to grab your world superbike gift at www.phillipislandcircuit.com.au/superbikes.

And if you are really lucky and purchase a three day GA ticket before December 31, you could be one of four lucky winners to be on the starting grid for World Superbike’s race one at the Island. Yes, you, on the starting grid for the championship kick off, standing right there next to Troy Corser and Chris Vermeulen – but there are only four winners and you have to buy now.

*   Plus handling/postage charges

**  Campground charge – four night camping for $99* per person or $198* per family
