Double Australian Superbike and Supersport Champion Jamie Stauffer is tipped to make a sensational switch to the Ducati Motologic Team to contest the 2010 Australian Superbike Championship.

Stauffer is primed to join elder brother Dan on Italian machinery in the New Year after a number of successful seasons with the factory Yamaha Racing Team, with Jamie set to sign to ride a Ducati 1198 and Dan already confirmed to be campaigning an Aprilia RSV4 Factory with Trinder Brothers Racing.

The decision by Motologic Racing boss Paul Free will see Stauffer take the reins as the team’s lead rider if speculation spreading throughout the industry is to prove accurate, leaving current riders Glenn Allerton and Wayne Maxwell searching for last-minute seats entering next year.

Motologic is all but confirmed to be contesting next year’s ASBK series with support from Ducati to run 1198 machinery, although an expected December announcement has reportedly been moved back to January.
