Dunlop's ASBK control tyres won't be required at the MotoGP support events this season.

Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced that competitors in the 2010 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix support races will be able to select from any tyre in the 2010 MA Homologation list for their respective class.

MA, in coordination with Australian MotoGP steward Brendan Gledhill announced the change in the support class supplementary regulations yesterday afternoon.

The change refers to clauses 25.5.1 and 25.6.1 of the supplementary regulations, meaning all riders can select any tyre from the MA 2010 Homologation list for their class.

The full list can be found at www.ma.org.au/roadracing at the bottom of the page.

In a move that is set to blow the categories wide open after a season with Dunlop as the official control tyre for both the Australian Superbike Championship and Australian Formula Xtreme Championship Series, riders will be able to select from a wide range of tyres.

For further clarification regarding this change, competitors can contact MA by calling 03 9684 0500.
