General: Details on the funeral of Ian Packer announced

As the motorcycling community continues to mourn the loss of one of the sport’s true gentlemen, Ian Packer, details regarding his funeral have now been released.

The funeral service for Mr Packer will take place on Tuesday October 5 at the Castlebrook Memorial Park, Rouse Hill at 4:00pm and is open to all who wish to attend.
Followed by a reception at the Mean Fiddler Hotel, Rouse Hill thereafter and again is open to all who wish to attend.

Ian passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, aged 53.

Since Sunday, hundreds of letters of appreciation and condolences have flowed in. As well as many real-time tributes, including a moving ceremony before day two of the 2010 Australian Junior Motocross Championships at Lakes on Monday – the club Ian has been such a large part of for more than a decade.

As a mark of respect, Motorcycling NSW will close its office on Tuesday the 5th. However, will resume to normal operation on Wednesday the 6th.

Castlebrook Memorial Park is located on Windsor Rd, Rouse Hill, opposite Rouse Hill Town Centre.

The Mean Fiddler Hotel is also located on Windsor Rd, Rouse Hill – on the corner of Windsor and Commercial Roads.
