Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Josh Hansen maintains the lead in this year’s Monster Energy Super X Championship, happy to be leading the title, but determined to win his first round when the series enters New Zealand in a fortnight.

Hansen finished second at last Saturday night’s Survival round in Tasmania behind countryman Justin Brayton, becoming the favourite for race wins now that Brayton and Kevin Windham have returned home to the U.S.

“As far as the championship goes, everything is on track,” Hansen, originally from Colorado, commented. “I’m on the podium again and getting more points. My goal is still to win some rounds but that will come.

“I’ll just keep pushing, go for the win and try and win the championship for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.”

Super X 2010 has marked a solid start for the 25-year-old dual X Games gold medalist, finishing second at Newcastle, third in Canberra and second at Launceston to stretch to a 24-point lead over the next series regular, Jay Marmont in third.
