One of the craziest girls in the world and Nitro Circus star Jolene Van Vugt took to the skies of New Zealand yesterday alongside her co-star Erik Roner to complete one of most spectacular and outrageous stunts ever performed and captured.

Van Vugt and Roner were joined by eight of their extreme friends and flew out of a plane over New Zealand, armed with a range of action sports contraptions including a BMX bike, wheelchair, kid’s trike, body board, skis, scooters and even an esky, which the crew will put to use during their worldwide Nitro Circus Live tour in 2011, including a regional tour of Australia throughout March and April.

“I have heard that New Zealand is the action capital of the world so I think the Nitro crew is going to fit in just fine here,” said Van Vugt after the stunt today.

“Fans all around the world are going to love the shows which are packed with the best in action sports, as well as a whole lot of crazy Nitro antics. Today’s stunt was just a tease for what you can expect in our tour!”

The all new touring sensation, Nitro Circus Live, performed to record breaking crowds throughout Australian capital cities in its worldwide debut earlier this year and will visit Australia, NZ, America and Europe in 2011.

Fans will witness mind-blowing tricks performed by the best athletes from around globe in the most spectacular live action sports show ever produced.

Headlining the tour will be 17 times X games medalist and new world number one FMX rider, Travis Pastrana.

Joining Pastrana will be the entire Nitro Circus crew from the hit MTV show including Jolene Van Vugt (CAN), Erik Roner (USA), Jim De Champ (USA), Special Greg (USA) and Dusty Wygle (USA).

2009 FMX X games gold medalist Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams (AUS) and the only rider performing FMX double back flips, Cam Sinclair (AUS) will be performing as well as Steve Mini (AUS), Chuck Norris (AUS), Clint Moore (AUS), Josh Sheehan (AUS) and Jarryd McNeil (AUS).

Some of the best BMX riders in the world will also feature including X games medalist Andy Buckworth (AUS) who was the second rider in the world to perform the death defying double front flip.

Not only will all of the stars be performing the biggest tricks in FMX and BMX, they will also be pushing their limits and skill on a range of crazy contraptions on the amazing mutli-million dollar set, which includes the 50 foot Nitro Gigant-A-Ramp.

Fans can expect to see kids trikes, snow skis, tandem bikes, razor scooters and much more launched with skill off the Gigant-A-Ramp.

Super extreme wheelchair athlete Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham (USA) will blow peoples’ minds with his courage and skill on the 50 foot ramp and fans can also expect to see spectacular choreographed freestyle riding including the 10 rider Nitro backflip combination train, which has to be seen to be believed.

The Nitro Circus brand founded by Travis Pastrana, Gregg Godfrey and Jeremy Rawle has enjoyed a rapid rise to global popularity, started by the innovative DVD series featuring Travis and friends performing outrageous stunts and on a range of crazy contraptions.

In 2009, they partnered with MTV to create a new smash hit TV series produced by Godfrey Entertainment and Dickhouse productions, which has aired to huge ratings in over 60 countries over two seasons.

Nitro Circus Live was created through a partnership between the creators of Nitro Circus and Australian based sports marketing and events company, Global Action Sports. The first ever tour in Australia became the highest grossing action sports show in Australian history with almost 120,000 tickets sold.
