Sepang victory sets Allerton up for a confident ASBK return at Queensland Raceway

Allerton is ready to continue his winning form this weekend.

Allerton will look to take his fourth win of five races in Queensland.

Current Australian Superbike Championship series leader Glen Allerton is feeling confident he can continue his winning form coming into this weekend’s round five at Queensland Raceway.

Allerton recently travelled to Sepang, Malaysia, to compete in a local domestic series, using the race to keep his eye in during the Australian championship break.

Allerton was able to take overall victory in slippery conditions, and was positive about the experience.

“It was a bit of fun to race at Sepang and I’ll take any extra time I can get on the bike to prepare myself,” he commented.

Despite holding a solid lead in the series on his Procon Maxima BMW after racking up three wins from four starts so far, the 2008 champion is not letting his guard down, knowing his rivals will be right there to capitalise on any mistakes.

“The pressure is definitely still on and I can’t give an inch to these guys,” said Allerton.

“They’re hungry for wins and will jump at any chance, especially at Queensland Raceway which is a circuit everyone knows well.”

Round five of the Australian Superbike Championships will take place at Queensland Raceway running from June 3-5.
