Herfoss confident he can contend in ASBK races once mistakes are eliminated

Team Suzuki’s Troy Herfoss has claimed he is happy with his speed, but just needs to eliminate mistakes in order to contend for wins in the Australian Superbike Championship.

Herfoss took sixth overall at Queensland Raceway on the weekend with 5-7 results from the two races, citing small mistakes as the reason for not being further up the leaderboard.

“I felt I had the pace to run with the front guys this weekend and I was happy with my lap times – 1:09.6 in both races. Unfortunately I made a couple of little mistakes, and you can’t afford to do that at this level,” Herfoss stated.

“In race two I missed a couple of gear shifts, and that made me run wide. It’s something I’ll be working on before we come back here in August for the next round.”

The 2010 Australian Supersport Champion currently sits third in the Superbike Championship after round five of the series, trailing second place rider, Team Honda’s Jamie Stauffer, by ten points.
