Team i-Style Natural Aprilia Racing’s Ben Attard continued his solid form on the Aprilia RSV4 at Queensland Raceway on the weekend.

Attard, who has impressed many on the Aprilia machine this season, was strong in qualifying, taking third on the grid in qualifying.

A bad run into turn one on race one saw him drop through the pack, battling with Team Suzuki’s Troy Herfoss to eventually take seventh for the race.

“We were right up there in practice and qualifying, race one didn’t really go according to plan,” Attard reflected.

“Normally I’m a good starter but I just got swamped a bit and didn’t get the best run in, to be fair I had seventeen laps to get it back and didn’t so I was not real happy with myself after that.”

Attard was able to up the ante for race two, fighting within the lead pack and setting the fastest lap of the race to take fourth by race end.

“Race two I was a lot more aggressive into turn one, I didn’t want to get caught out and it was pretty hairy in that race, but I put in everything I had and we got a better result,” stated Attard.

“We did our quickest lap of the weekend in the second race and were a lot more consistent. I’m disappointed not to be on the podium but at least we finished on a high.”

Attard’s fourth overall finish in Queensland nets him equal fourth in the championship, currently tied with Herfoss, only ten points back from second place as the series passes it halfway point.
