Checa is feeling confident for Misano after solid test sessions.

After taking a double win at Miller, Team Althea Racing’s Carlos Checa is confident he can continue his top form this weekend at Misano and extend his World Superbike championship lead.

After already testing at Misano this season, Checa feels prepared as the team heads to San Marino.

“Misano is a strong track for us. We carried out testing here after the Monza race and the results were very positive, very constructive,” Checa stated.

“During those tests we made some improvements to the bike and so I’m feeling very confident ahead of this next race.”

Despite feeling that he and his Ducati have the goods coming into the race, Checa is not underestimating the form of his championship rivals.

“It will depend on the tyres that will be made available, we’ll see if they provide the same sensation as we had in testing. We know who will
be strong, it’s a track where Melandri, Biaggi and Corser go very well, it will undoubtedly be a close race!” Checa commented.

“I’m hoping for good weather as, after the unstable conditions at Miller, it would be nice to race in the sun.”

Checa currently holds a 61 point advantage in the World Superbike Championship coming into Misano.
