Aussie Jason O'Halloran continues to recover from injuries sustained at Knockhill's BSB round.

Australian rider Jason O’Halloran is expecting to be back on his motorcycle before the end of the British Superstock 1000 season after a multi-rider crash at Knockhill on 19 June left him in hospital for several weeks.

O’Halloran, who was enjoying a very successful start to the season as part of the HM Plant Honda team, suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident in the round five race.

Already back on his feet thanks to some crutches, O’Halloran who suffered a broken leg, a punctured lung, kidney damage and a destroyed spleen has begun rehabilitation to rebuild his strength.

Although still in hospital he is working with a trainer in the pool and using a fit ball to gradually bring his body back into racing form.

O’Halloran is extremely positive about returning to the HM Plant Honda team before the end of the British Superstock season and has been impressed with the progress his body has made to date.

“I was in ICU for two weeks which was one of the toughest things my body has had to fight through but we made it and although they can’t give me an exact recovery time I am confident that I’ll be back before the end of the season” O’Halloran said.

The former Australian Supersport Champion began his career racing in the dirt like many riders of today. His talent was quickly noticed by factory teams by the time he hit the bitumen and he first rode for Honda Australia in 2004 as part of the development team.

O’Halloran is new the HM Plant Honda Team for 2011 but not new to the British Superstock series and the UK racetracks. He currently retains his position as fourth on the Superstock 1000 standings.
