Current ASBK champion Staring to stop in at Queensland ASBK

Last year's ASBK title winner Bryan Staring will be on hand at Queensland Raceway tomorrow.

Reigning Australian Superbike Champion Bryan Staring will be on hand at this weekend’s sixth round of the QBE ASBK series alongside the V8 Supercars, taking time out at his home on the Gold Coast after a trying rookie season in the European-based Superstock 1000 FIM Cup.

Staring, who is based in Italy near the Team Pedercini headquarters, has been enjoying his time at home on the Gold Coast and training hard for the second half of the season.

“It’s great to get back to my old routine of training and cycling in my local area – really helps to clear my head,” he commented. “It’s been a tough few months with numerous serious crashes and lots of engine failures. At Silverstone, we only got 22 laps in before the race.

“So the break has come at the right time. I know my team is 100 percent focused and so am I. There is a great vibe in our garage and our goal is to get back in the top five, with a view to a podium before the year is out.

“That would be a good way to end the season and a great way to start 2012, which will be a better year for us, as we will have this year’s data and experience behind us.

“I still have complete faith in the bike and the team have faith in me so there is no reason we can’t achieve our goals”.

Staring is heading to Queensland Raceway tomorrow to watch the ASBK racing and catch up with some of his old racing mates.

“I’m looking forward to a relaxed day at the track when I don’t need to ride,” he added. “It’ll be fun watching Waters, Stauffer and Allerton fight it out.”

Staring’s next race on the Team Pedercini ZX-10R Ninja is on 4 September at the challenging Nurburgring in Germany.
