Team Honda Racing's Jamie Stauffer is the in-form man of the ASBK series, again topping the Friday morning time sheets at QR.

Team Honda Racing’s Jamie Stauffer has continued his form on Friday morning at Queensland Raceway’s sixth round of the QBE Australian Superbike Championship.

Stauffer topped the first 20-minute practice session of the weekend with a fastest time of 1:10.418 as he completed a total of 14 laps in the session.

Behind Stauffer was local favourite Ben Attard on The i-Style Natural Aprilia Racing RSV4 with a 1:10.584, while Team Suzuki’s 2009 champion Josh Waters rounded out the top three with a 1:10.675.

Championship leader Glenn Allerton posted his fastest time on his 11th and final lap of the session, the final rider in the 1:10 bracket with a 1:10.985.

The top 10 was rounded out by Robert Bugden, Troy Herfoss, Wayne Maxwell, Craig Coxhell, Scott Charlton and Chris Trounson.

Charlton is returning to action aboard the Racers Edge Performance Suzuki that he rode to fourth in the series last year.

Meanwhile, Trounson is back from a season in the AMA Superbike Championship, joining Allerton on a second Procon Maxima Racing BMW for the round.

Another new face in the mix this weekend is Queensland-based D-grader Corey Snowsill, riding a Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing CBR1000RR alongside Coxhell.

Snowsill is riding the Fireblade vacated by team regular Cole Odendaal, who has run into sponsorship problems ahead of this weekend’s round. He expects to be back for round seven.

Top Prostock rider in the field was Linden Magee, the Coastline Motorrad Racing rider 12th outright with a 1:13.105.
