The late Ken Wootton was remembered with a minute’s silence at Queensland Raceway this afternoon ahead of the opening race during round six of the QBE Australian Superbike Championship.

Wootton was a great ambassador of Australian motorcycle racing throughout his extraordinary career as a journalist and commentator, highly respected and appreciated by all in the industry.

This weekend marks the first ASBK round since Wootton’s tragic passing while on a working holiday in the Czech Republic late last month.

A memorial was also held at Phillip Island in Victoria last Monday to celebrate and tribute the life of Ken and his contributions to Australian motorcycling.
