MRRDA confirms five rounds and 250 Proddies for 2012

250 Production racing will be introduced to the MRRDA for the 2012 season.

250 Production racing will be introduced to the MRRDA for the 2012 season.

The Motorcycle Road Racing Development Association will host its sixth season of competition in 2012, featuring a five-round series.

Again working with the best racing clubs in Australia, the season starts off with the Mount Gambier Mac Park circuit to host an Easter meeting for round one of the series on 7-8 April.

The series will then move on to Phillip Island with the Hartwell Motorcycle Club for the weekend of the 2-3 June. Round three is at the Broadford State Motorcycle complex with NSW club St George on 23-24 June.

Round four on 11-12 August is with the Motorcycle Sportsmen Motorcylce Club at the Warwick Morgan Park circuit.

The finale will be back at Broadford as the MRRDA’s own event on the weekend of 25-26 August, along with the top six shootout and California Superbike School training day on 27 August.

With the 250 Production class making a comeback in four-stroke form for 2012, the MRRDA has included it and the 600 Superstock into the program for 2012.

The classes for 2012 will be Nipper, Junior Two-Stroke, Junior Four-Stroke, 125GP, 250GP Mono, 250 Production and 600 Superstock with an age limit of 21.

As there is a clash with the ASBK for round two of the series, the 125GP, 250GP Mono, 250 Production and 600 Superstock will all be allowed to drop their worst round.

Anyone wishing to compete in the series should keep an eye on the MRRDA website www.mrrda.com for entry forms and other series and training information.
