Aaron Morris made it back-to-back round wins with a sterling second Supersport race victory during round five of the Australian Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park this afternoon.

After winning this morning’s opening Supersport affair, Morris (Maxima Yamaha / Ohlins / Arrow / Pirelli / RK Bell / Alpinestars) sliced his way to the second win of the round by 0.037s.

Morris and Aiden Wagner (YRD / XXX Rated Suspension / Wagner Soil Testing Yamaha) were engaged in a two-rider battle for much of race two, but it was Morris won claimed victory in the race to the line.

“It was a hard race, Aiden rode well,” Morris said. “I made it hard for myself, but the Yamaha and Pirelli tyres are working great. I can’t be any happier with the whole package.”

Wagner was happy with his performance despite being edged out for the victory.

“I thought I had it there, but he slip-streamed by me and I couldn’t believe it,” Wagner said. “It was a great ride by Aaron, a really awesome race.”

Completing the podium was Michael Blair (YRD / Blair Build / M & C Plant / Campbells Building Materials Yamaha), getting the better of series leader Daniel Falzon (Catterpillar EPSA / Yamaha).

Chris Quinn (Coopers Pale Ale Yamaha / Holmes Extractive Resources) climbed to fifth late in the running, both he and Kyle Buckley (Motorcycle Accessory Shop / Yamaha / YRD / xxx Rated Susp. / LAE Racing) working their way past Aaron Gobert (Wet 4 U Kawasaki / Bell / Alpinestar / Ballistic / Dunlop) in the closing stages.

Overall for the round it was Morris who repeated his win of Saturday, from Wagner and Falzon.
