Aussie Moto3 campaigner Arthur Sissis is hopeful of a strong showing within the Moto3 ranks at Motorland Aragon, a valuable chance to seek out prospects for the 2014 season.

The South Australian rider will not continue with his current Red Bull KTM Ajo Motorsports squad next year after the team’s reshuffle which saw it sign Jack Miller and Red Bull Rookies champion Karel Hanika to run alongside current pilot, Malaysian Zulfahmi Khairuddin.

He is hoping to draw upon previous experience at the circuit which saw him finish within the top 10 in his maiden Moto3 season in 2012.

“The track for this weekend is a nice circuit. I like it,” said Sissis. “Last year I did pretty well there, so I want to have a good Grand Prix from Friday until Sunday.

“I hope to have luck with the weather and be able to enjoy some dry sessions, since the last time there almost every session was wet.”

He is confident of drawing upon the KTM’s strength in a straight line in Sunday’s grand prix.

“This track is very fast, but also has some slow corners and a long straight where I think the KTM can realise its potential,” he added. “One of the key points of MotorLand Aragon is the last corner.”

Beyond the Spanish round the championship will head to three consecutive flyaway grands prix, the second of which is Sissis’ home race at Phillip Island where he achieved his sole podium finish.

The Australian rider has carded five top 10 finishes to date and currently sits 12th on the standings, equal to his finishing position last season.
