Aprilia pilot hopes to bounce back during Winton ASC weekend.
Trinder Aprilla Racing Team’s Chris Seaton will have a stack of supporters to cheer him on at his home track this weekend when the Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship hosts round four at Winton.
Seaton, who at Queensland Raceway had a round to forget, is looking to put any bad luck behind him and with the support of his family and friends, give fans something to talk about.
“I’m really looking to make amends after Queensland, we had some real issues with the bike, and pretty much everything that could go wrong did go wrong,” he said.
“Winton is my home track, and although I’m not a huge fan of the track it’s self, I’m definitely looking to put it up the pointy end. I’m sure I will have a bit of a crew down there supporting me. I haven’t been up the front this year, so that’s a huge driving force for me.
“I’ve raced at Winton ever since 2002, so I’ve definitely done enough racing there. I think the last time I went there with Formula Xtreme I finished second overall, so hopefully this round of the ASC will give me some good results.”
In his 24th year of racing, Seaton is still remaining determined to perfect the race bike and put the Trinder/Aprilla Race Team up the front before the series end.
“I had always hoped to put the bike in the top five or top six this year, but having a lot of factory riders and really strong privateers in there, it has been hard,” he said.
“At the moment we have really had to take a step back and just get this bike right. At Queensland we had suspension troubles and engine problems so it was the first weekend in my life that I actually started faster than I finished.
“I know that once the bike is all sorted that we absolutely have the ability to be up there. There’s a couple of riders out there that I’m looking to get some revenge on, so if I can get the speed, we should be able to give fans a good show at Winton.”
The Swann Superbike Series will now head to Winton for round four of the series on 2-3 August.
