Australia’s Moto3 World Championship leader Jack Miller is confident a revised strategy implemented at Aragon this weekend will pay dividends during today’s 14th round of the series.

Miller, 19, has focused on race set-up in Spain across practice and qualifying, setting five consecutive laps in the 1m58 bracket during the final free practice session yesterday.

MotoGP-bound Miller will start the Aragon Grand Prix from fourth place on the second row of the grid; his best time only 0.158s off pole position in a close qualifying session.

“We’re happy with how everything has gone,” Miller explained. “To be honest, this is one of the best weekends we’ve had this year. We changed the strategy from other grands prix, mostly focusing on getting a good pace for the race. From there we tried to go lap-by-lap and find the best setup for tomorrow. The times were pretty fast and consistent, so we’re happy about that.

“In the race I’m sure there will be a great battle, but I feel ready. I’m braking comfortably and where I want, and the feedback from the tyres is very good. I can’t wait for the race to start. We head the second row and are happy with that.

“We’ll have to push a little at the beginning of the race and see how we feel. It will be a tough race, but hopefully we will get a good result.”

Miller holds a nine-point lead entering the Aragon round ahead of Alex Marquez, who is fifth on the grid, with pole position holder Alex Rins a further 11 points back in third.
