Multiple-time Australian champion Bryan Staring will make a guest appearance with Team WD-40 in the final round of British Superbikes this weekend at Brands Hatch.

The team split with Barry Burrell following Silverstone’s penultimate round, opening the position for World Superbike regular Staring on board the privateer ZX-10R.

“I’m really excited to come in Brands Hatch this weekend,” Staring said. “The British championship is the one that all the riders around the world keep their eye on. “It’s also a pleasure to say I’ll be competing with a team as professional as the of Team WD-40.

“I thank Brent Gladwin of GR Motosport and Andrea Grillini for the opportunity and look forward to working with the team.”

Team WD-40 manager Brent Gladwin said: “These situations are never very easy to manage, but we as a team wish Barry well for the future. In moving forward we were overwhelmed by the interest from riders around the world and are excited to have Bryan with us for this event.

“Bryan’s international pedigree speaks for its self with duties in both MotoGP and WSB, we are looking forward to working with him to evaluate and continue our program with the superbike.”

Staring will conclude the WSBK season at the Locail Circuit with the Grillini Kawasaki team on 31 October-2 November in Qatar.
