A selection of Kawasaki teams and Pata Honda completed their first test of the 2015 season at Aragon this week, affected by weather that limited track time across the two-day duration.

The private test that drew to a close on Tuesday in Spain was far from a profitable one for the teams and riders involved, given the weather conditions and track temperatures encountered over the two days.

The majority of riders nevertheless managed to hit the track on the second day as at least the rain was not a factor anymore. Track temperatures did not rise above 10 degrees though, meaning the track time was heavily limited to the ‘warmest’ hours.

Yesterday only the Grillini duo of Christophe Ponsson and Santiago Barragan and Team Pedercini’s David Salom ventured out their garages.

The only one to sit out the whole test was 2013 champion Tom Sykes, who chose not to take any unnecessary risk as he already knows the factory ZX-10R like the back of his hand.

On the other side of the garage KRT’s new recruit Jonathan Rea tried what he could to gather some data and information, which are vital at this stage for him to find the right package that will be sent to Australia.

The Pata Honda duo of Sylvain Guintoli and Michael van der Mark made the most of this afternoon’s improved conditions to complete the highest possible number of laps after a half-productive test at Portimao last week.

Kawasaki Racing Team, Pata Honda and Team Pedercini will return to the track on 26-27 January at Jerez for the last European pre-season test, while on Wednesday many other squads including the Red Devils Aprilia, the Aruba.it Ducati Superbike Team and Crescent Suzuki will begin a two-day test at Portimao.
