Team Honda Racing’s Jamie Stauffer won both Superbike races today at Phillip Island’s 2015 Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli.

Stauffer won the first 14-lap race by 0.477s over teammate Troy Herfoss after an entertaining dice, with this year’s ASBK champion Mike Jones (Australian Outdoor Living / Cube Racing Team Kawasaki) a further seven seconds in arrears.

The second race also belonged to Stauffer, 0.120s in front of Herfoss, while an impressive Jones was 4.757s behind to complete the podium for the second time today.

Overall it was Stauffer the victor from Herfoss and Jones, while a pair of fourths placed Daniel Falzon (JD Racing / Caterpillar EPSA / Yamaha) fourth overall. John Hunt (Kawasaki) completed the top five.

New Zealander Ryan Hampton (Next Gen Motorsports BMW) was fifth in the opening race, but crashed out of the second in the early stages, handing Australia’s Falzon the ‘FIM Oceania Road Race Championship’ in the process.

In Supersport it was Victorian Chas Hern (Suzuki) who took a memorable double victory on his GSX-R600, but the spotlight was cast on Hankook Suzuki’s Brayden Elliott after 2-3 finishes clinched him the 2015 crown.

Hern claimed the overall from Elliott for a Suzuki 1-2, while a runner-up result in race two put Aaiden Coote (Yamaha) onto the podium in third.

Other overall winners from the final round included Matt Barton in Moto3 – the championship going to Tom Bramich – and Drew Sells in Production, while fourth was enough for Justin Hall to bring home the title.

The Hartwell Rising Stars 1000cc division was dominated by Ryan Lawes, as Jason Spencer took out the 600cc club-based ranks for the round.
