Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse has confirmed Jordi Torres will ride for the outfit in the 2018 FIM Motul World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), making the transition from the Althea BMW Racing Team.

The 30-year-old Spaniard, who wound up ninth overall in the 2017 standings, will debut with the MV Agusta F4 RC during the first winter test to prepare for the new season.

“I’m really excited to start the new season with Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse,” said Torres. “Over these last years I have been able to evaluate the excellent growth of the F4 RC and I am sure we will be able to get some very positive results in 2018.

“Thanks to Andrea Quadranti, Giovanni Castiglioni and MV Agusta for believing in me and my potential – I really look forward to riding this bike during the winter tests.”

Torres made his debut in the Moto2 World Championship in 2010 before moving to the WorldSBK Championship in 2015, where he claimed three podiums and one victory.
