IEG CONFIRMS ASBK TELEVISION ON ONE

IEG press release:

The 2009 Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championship will be on free to air television this year following successful negotiations with Network Ten.

Negotiations commenced at Philip Island last October during Moto GP said IEG director Yarrive Konsky, “David White and Steven Wood were extremely approachable and enthusiastic about the possibilities. They kept an open mind towards the type of production we wanted to create.”

“The emphasis for this season is to build a program that encumbers all aspects of racing, with particular attention being given to profiling the sports personalities and teams,” said Konsky.

“Television is integral if we are to reach a new audience and gain further main stream acceptance. Although the primary focus is on the two premier classes (Superbike and Supersport), each support category will be featured on one of the 5 shows respectively.”

The 1 hour program is scheduled to air two weeks after each round on Network Tens exclusive sports channel – ONE HD and be re-broadcasted on their second free to air commercial station ONE SD (Channel 12).

The television schedule will be released early next week along with some exciting news on the program announcers.
