The mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul (ASBK) is pleased to announce the Victorian State Government’s support for the standalone return of Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit to the 2025 ASBK calendar, secured through the Significant Sporting Events Program.

The iconic Phillip Island circuit will host Round 6 of the championship on September 6–7, adopting the same successful two-day event format from 2024. This critical backing from the Victorian Government ensures the event meets international standards, reinforcing Victoria’s reputation as Australia’s home of world-class motorsport.

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos: “Phillip Island’s Grand Prix Circuit is synonymous with Australian motorsport, and the upcoming round of the Australian Superbike Championship will see some of Australia’s best racers go head-to-head on the iconic track – if you’re a motorsport fan, there will be no better place to be in the first weekend of September.”

“This will be the first time Victoria will host the Yamaha R3 Blu Cru Asia Pacific Championship, bringing 20 international riders from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan and New Zealand to a fantastic part of our state.

“The Victorian Government is proud to support what promises to be an action-packed weekend that will deliver a boost for tourism and hospitality businesses across the Bass Coast.”

Beyond the circuit, Phillip Island invites visitors to explore its natural wonders – the Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Centre, Seal Rocks, Churchill Island heritage farm, surf beaches, and fresh local seafood.

Peter Doyle, CEO of Motorcycling Australia, emphasised the partnership’s significance: “This support via the Significant Sporting Events Program is instrumental in elevating the ASBK. It enables us to enhance the experience for riders, teams, and fans while showcasing Phillip Island’s world-class facilities. The Victorian Government’s commitment cements ASBK’s status as a premier event on Australia’s sporting calendar.”
