Motologic Racing Honda’s Wayne Maxwell has come a long way since the beginning of 2008 since joining Paul Free’s championship-winning team, stepping back to the 600 Supersport ranks and earning his stripes again winning races before rejoining the Superbike ranks this year.

Taking his racing more seriously than ever, the 26-year-old has emerged as a threat for Superbike victories already this season – also coming in under the radar as a legitimate championship contender if his results at the opening round at Phillip Island are any indication.

MotoOnline.com.au caught up with Maxwell at a ride day at Oran Park last weekend, getting an insight into his expectations for the rest of the year and his goals as a factory Superbike racer.
