ASBK: Odendaal eager for home round in Queensland

Trinder Brothers Racing press release:

With less than a week before the third round of the ASBK Championship kicks-off at Queensland Raceway –a double-header – Cole Odendaal, under the guidance of Trinder Brothers Racing, has made astonishing inroads with the rebuilding of their team’s spirit, morale and machinery, following the tragic circumstances that surrounded round two at Symmons Plains in Tasmania.

Demonstrating an incredible level of team cohesion, the Gold Coast based team has decided, without reservation, to try to continue their quest for Supersport supremacy.

Steve Trinder (Team Owner) said, “Losing Judd (Greedy) has been incredibly difficult for everyone. Young Cole (Odendaal) has been coping really well in the aftermath of the accident.  He’s well aware of the potential dangers of the sport, but has kept these in perspective.  As a team we’re moving forward – Judd wouldn’t want it any other way, and everything from now is for Judd.”

“I would personally like to thank everyone for their well wishes and support during this time, it has just been marvellous.  We would also like to thank everyone who has extended a helping hand to keep young Cole on the grid.  Without assistance he wouldn’t be able to continue to follow his dream. We are going to make sure he repays everyone with the results we think he is capable of,” concluded Steve.

With little more than the frame of his machine salvageable from the accident – the acquisition of a new race bike was necessitated – a 2009 Yamaha R6, which the team has been working tirelessly on in preparation for the Queensland showdown.

Nineteen-year-old team rider, Cole Odendaal, said, “We’ve made some awesome progress in very little time with the new TBR Yamaha.  Considering we’ve only been able to conduct one day’s testing on the bike, we’re punching-out some very respectable times,” smiled the teenager.

The action at the Queensland double-header will commence on Thursday 28 May with practice.  Two days of fierce battle will transpire Saturday and Sunday, May 30 – 31.
