Racing at one of his favourite tracks on the 12-round outdoors circuit, Australia’s Chad Reed is hoping to rebound at Redbud this weekend and find the form that saw him finish 1-1 just a few races ago.

The Rockstar Makita Suzuki pilot narrowly missed the podium at Thunder Valley in Colorado last weekend, but still managed to score important points and maintain his lead of the 450 class.

The sixth round of the Lucas Oils AMA Pro Motocross Championship will be a pivotal one for Reed, who has built his 2009 campaign on consistency all-the-while battling an energy-sapping illness.

He holds down a lead of 14 points heading to the rider-favourite Redbud track in Michigan, and said he was hoping to be back at full health in order to challenge for class wins.

“I’ve been struggling with some things that are completely out of my control lately, so it was really great to get that win at High Point,” said Reed.

“I wasn’t feeling good at Thunder Valley, I managed to take third in the opening moto but really struggled to finish off the night and missed the podium as a result.

“Going into Redbud, it’s one of my favourite tracks on the circuit so I’m hoping to be 100 percent for the race this weekend.”

He finished on the podium at the event last year, one of just a handful of outdoor races he contested since his last full-time season in 2006.

The 27-year-old has 195 points next to his name after five rounds of competition.Marathon Man dvd Second Thoughts dvd
