Oz SX: Reardon ready for homecoming with Woodstock Honda

WOODSTOCK HONDA:

After an impressive conclusion to an injury-marred season, Daniel Reardon is coming home to compete for the  Woodstock Bourbon Honda Thor Team.

Last weekend, on the 9th and 10th of October, Daniel lined-up against the world’s best open class supercross  racers and finished an impressive third overall at the infamous US OPEN.

Equally impressive was the fact that  this was only his second open class supercross race in America.

Thanks to Honda Australia and Woodstock Bourbon, Daniel will line-up against Australia’s best racers this coming weekend in Launceston, Tasmania for round one of Super X.

Daniel is looking forward to racing back in Australia again – “I am feeling great; my fitness is good and I am really looking forward to racing on home turf again. Last weekend was amazing, my times where good and I felt really strong on the bike. Racing against Chad this weekend should be good, I haven’t stopped practicing and  testing for Super X and I want to be challenged throughout the whole series.”

Daniel will be riding for Honda’s factory Australian team as a fully fledged racer, alongside the team’s other riders Brent Landman and Dean Ferris. Todd Waters will miss the first few rounds as he regains full fitness.

Brent Landman, who subbed for an injured Ford Dale during the motocross season, has taken a fulltime spot on the team for the SuperX series and cant wait to prove himself – “I don’t have anything to lose. I still don’t have a ride for next year and I need to do everything I can to prove I am worthy of a factory ride. Testing has been amazing and I know I have the bike to do the job at hand”.

The team’s only lites rider, Dean Ferris is also very eager to prove himself after his debut Super X series last year didn’t go as planned – “Last year was difficult, it was my first season in Super X and I hadn’t really done a lot of supercross practicing or racing prior to that. This year is completely different. I have been training hard and feel good on the bike and on the track. This weekend will be a good test for me, I believe I am ready and am looking forward to it”.

The team is prepared for Round one of the Super X in Launceston, Tasmania, said Brad MacAlpine – Team Manager of the Woodstock Bourbon Honda Thor Team.

“It’s going to be a trying Super X series, seven races in eight weeks. We have been working, testing and building bikes for the past 12 weeks in preparation for it. I believe we are ready. The team is feeling really positive and our riders look good on the track. Racing at this intense level is hard, but I believe we are ready,” added McAlpine.

Round one of the Super X series takes place this weekend at Aurora Stadium, Launceston. You can meet the team on Friday between 5.30 and 6.30pm at The Black Stallion Hotel, 218 Georgetown Road, Rocherlea; there will be giveaways and signings. If you have the time come out and meet the team away from the track where they will answer questions and sign autographs.
