MOTOLOGIC RACING:

There is now less than a week until the final round of the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championship for 2009. A state of calm has fallen over Motologic as the team goes
about their final preparations in the lead up to the most important event of the year.

Round 7 will be held at Phillip Island this coming weekend (28th & 29th November) and with the points for the series so close it could very well come down to the final race.

Oleon Motologic Racing’s Glenn Allerton, defending his 2008 Australian Superbike title, is at the top of the points tally on 253 with Suzuki’s Josh Waters not far behind on 251. The man in third place at present according to points is the other half of the dynamic Oleon Motologic Racing duo, Wayne Maxwell who with 244 points is every bit in contention to take home the Australian title.

The Honda CBR1000RR9s were given more track time recently with Motologic attending a ride day at the Phillip Island circuit in order to test some possible changes to the bike set up.
Both riders were pleased to have one more opportunity to put some laps under their belts on the track at which they will do battle for the number 1 plate. Wayne Maxwell was more than content with his track times and goes into Round 7 happy with the bike set up.

“Being able to test again was great. We really haven’t changed much in the lead up to this event as I’m very comfortable with the bike set up. It is really just a matter of getting down to
the Island and giving it all we’ve got at this point. I’m in with a good chance of taking the championship, but I’m not the only one! The team have worked really hard throughout the year so we’ll just have to wait and see who takes the title.”

The defending champion, Glenn Allerton is ready to take it to the track one last time this season.

“It has been a fantastic year of racing and that shows in the fact that there are three of us in with a chance of winning the championship! We tried a couple of things in testing and I’m really happy with where we are at. I am looking forward to the final event and I have every confidence in the team at Motologic. Back to back wins would certainly be fantastic!”

This is also on the mind of the Oleon Motologic Racing Team owner and manager Paul Free. Having taken the title in 2008, and having previously tasted the thrill of back to back victories in 2004 and 2005 with Adam (Krusty) Fergusson and then Josh Brookes, Free knows what it takes to win.

“This is by no means over yet, but we have two of the three possible winners in the Oleon Motologic Racing Team and a very dedicated and professional group of people doing
everything they can to make it happen. To be racing at the Phillip Island circuit for the final round of the championship is terrific. To win the championship at this circuit would be just
amazing. Our Honda CBR1000RRs are ready. Glenn and Wayne are ready. Let’s just see what unfolds.”
