ASBK Tipping Comp - Rd1 Phillip Island

Welcome to round one of the 2010 MotoOnline.com.au Australian Superbike Championship Tipping Competition, set to be held at Phillip Island in Victoria this weekend.

Click here for the official entry list for the round.

In the ASBK tipping comp we will be combining results of both the Superbike and Supersport categories to determine our overall tipping champion and round winners.

You will have to name the fastest qualifier as well as the OVERALL round positions for 1-5 positions in the Superbike and Supersport classes each – with points being awarded for every correct rider tipped in their actual overall finishing position as follows:

1st – 5 points
2nd – 4 points
3rd – 3 points
4th – 2 points
5th – 1 point
Pole – 1 point

If a rider that you tipped finishes in the top 5, but doesn't finish in the position you tipped, you will be awarded 1 point.

For your entry to be eligible to enter the comps you must name the result you think your riders will score, followed by their full names and bike number, with an example as follows in no particular order (this makes it easier and more consistent when tallying results):

Superbike
Pole – Shawn Giles – #19
1st – Josh Waters – #1
2nd – Glenn Allerton – #14
3rd – Wayne Maxwell – #47
4th – Shannon Johnson – #42
5th – Jamie Stauffer – #27

Supersport
Pole – Christan Casella – #16
1st – Kevin Curtain – #9
2nd – Troy Herfoss – #18
3rd – Aaron Gobert – #96
4th – Pat Medcalf – #11
5th – Mitch Pirotta – #19

The tipping results from both the Superbike and Supersport classes will be combined for the overall tipping championship points (we won't have separate class tipping championships).

All tips may be changed until closing time, which is 12.00am Australian Eastern Standard time on FRIDAY morning (ensure they are revised in your original post rather than posting another).

Results will be posted on the Monday following each event once it's tallied up (I will usually have AMCN deadline, however once we get rolling I may get one of you guys to tally the results to get them out there quicker on the Sunday nights).

Please ensure posts in this thread remain related to the tipping competition – if you would like to speak about the racing then start a new thread.

Good luck to all and remember to tell your friends!

We are working on some pretty cool prizes for the comp, so stay tuned…

Thanks,
AG23

(Note that the scoring process is slightly different than what was suggested in an earlier thread, however it's been decided that this method will be the most straight forward and enjoyable for participants to understand for the season).
