Chad Reed and wife Ellie are expecting their first child, however he'll be in action in St Luois on Saturday.

Buoyed by last weekends clean run in Houston where he narrowly missed the podium, multiple World Supercross Champion Chad Reed is hoping to go one better at this weekends Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship event in St Louis on Saturday night.

The Edward Jones Dome has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Reed over the years, the Australian has won the main event four times, including last year’s event.

After a bad start in the 20-lap main event in Houston, Reed has spent the past week testing and working on his starts.

“I had a good return to racing last weekend but my start in the main was not so good ,” Reed admitted. “I have used my practice time this week to work on the areas that I felt I was lacking. While I am aiming for a win or a podium this weekend I have no intentions in getting involved in any games that will ruin anyone’s chance at a championship.

“As it stands right now I am still on call for the birth of our child, but I have to say that as the child of a racer he doesn’t seem to be in any hurry!”

Round 14 of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercoss will be held at St Louis’ Edward Jones Dome on Saturday, 17 April, with racing to commence at 7.00pm (CDT) – which is 10.00am Sunday, 18 April (AEDST).
