The first signs of the ASBK in 2011 have leaked and we have them right here: http://www.motoonline.com.au/2010/06/03/asbk-first-indication-of-2011-asbk-regulations-break-cover/
What do you guys think? Also, what would you like to see for next season in the ASBK as far as the rules and series structure goes? If the powers that be are discussing it in meetings, then you may as well post your feedback here as I know they read the Forum in the ESG iMoto Community Forum right here!
In regards to the Superstock 1000 category, my suggestion to Yarrive was to run Superstock 1000 A-grade riders within the Superbike ranks (scored separately of course) and then have the B-, C- and D-grade riders in their own standalone race (basically like it was run in previous years). The reason for this is that I believe it’s good to have top A-grade riders on Superstock bikes if that’s all they have or can afford (like Coxhell and co.), however it seems that having the B-grade riders included in that class has really taken away from the regular Superstock 1000 entries this year amongst other circumstances obviously.
On top of that, I’d like to see the Superstock 1000 A-grade class renamed to something more along the lines of Pro Superstock or something (keeping the lower grades’ class simply named Superstock 1000) because it’s a pain naming them all by their grades when speaking/reporting about them.
Or they could simply make the entire Superbike class Superstock 1000 spec for A- and B-graders, leaving Superstock 1000 the same spec (albeit on treaded tyres) for C- and D-graders. ;-)
I have a new feature section that I’ll probably launch next week, which will very much surround the current and future ASBK rules. It will be called “The Point”. It will feature industry stakeholders’ opinions. That’s all the info you get for now so stay tuned for next Tuesday!
