Reigning dual Australian Motocross Champion Jay Marmont maintains a 16-point lead heading into this weekend’s penultimate round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals, to be held at Moree in New South Wales on Sunday.

Marmont is yet to claim an overall round win this season as he fights for a record third straight title for CDR Rockstar Yamaha under the wing of Craig Dack, however his consistency places him in the box seat heading into the final two weekends of the season to be contested over the next fortnight.

“I am just going to go for it,” the 27-year-old said this week. “I have been training the house down since Albury and working to a plan that Dacka and [my wife] Abbey worked out and it’s the best I have felt in a long time.

“With two rounds to go, I’m going to leave nothing undone, leave nothing on the table and stamp some authority on this championship.”

Marmont currently leads Kawasaki’s former Motocross Grand Prix race winner Billy Mackenzie in the standings, with JDR Motorex KTM rookie Tye Simmonds a solid third as the season reaches its final stages.
