ASBK: Staring maintains perfect win record in Queensland

Cougar Bourbon Honda Racing’s Bryan Staring has taken an emphatic race two victory at Queensland Raceway this afternoon, scoring his second consecutive clean sweep at round four this afternoon.

Staring raced to the victory after an early battle with Ducati Motologic’s Jamie Stauffer and Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing’s Wayne Maxwell before ultimately pulling away to take victory by 2.971 seconds.

“It’s such a good feeling to get the result and take another double win here at Queensland Raceway,” Staring commented after the race. “We have a good setting here and it puts us into a good position for the championship so we’ll keep fighting to improve.”

Maxwell switched to the lower profile 190 size Dunlop control tyre after completing race one with the latest 200 rubber, improving to second and claiming third overall for the round behind Staring and Stauffer, who was third in race two.

Valvoline Superbike Team rider Glenn Allerton finished fourth in a consistent weekend, citing set-up changes as a backward step for race two, while Robbie Bugden improved for fifth on his Team Suzuki satellite machine.

Bugden lead two more Suzuki’s in Racers Edge Performance rider Scott Charlton and factory veteran Shawn Giles, while Dan Stauffer scored another strong result for TBR Aprilia in eighth.

Craig Coxhell was again the top Superstock 1000 finisher in ninth, while fellow BMW rider Cole Odendaal rounded out the top 10 overall as the second Superstock 1000 rider across the line.
