Aussie FMX star Jarryd McNeil will make a surprise appearance at the Pala national.

Australian Jarryd McNeil will contest the last AMA National Motocross of the year at Pala Raceway in California next weekend, returning to racing after scoring a silver medal in the Best Whip contest at X Games 16 last month.

The 19-year-old Victorian will be racing a Jay Clarke-prepared Racer X Honda CRF450 project bike with help from Vertex Pistons, Hot Cams, FMF, Dunlop, CV4, Cometic Gasket and QTM.

McNeil’s suspension will be tuned by suspension expert Mike Battista of MB1 Suspension.

Competing in the 450 Class against the likes of newly crowned national champion Ryan Dungey and countryman Brett Metcalfe is another dream realised while staying in the USA, the former Australian Junior Motocross Champion looking forward to the experience.

“I am just so stoked that Jay was able to make this happen for me, it is a dream come true,” McNeil commented.

In the weeks leading up to the event, McNeil will be coached by former AMA pro Casey Johnson in preparation for his AMA Motocross debut.
