Ducati launches 1198 SP for 2011

Ducati has released details of its 2011 model 1198 SP superbike.

Ducati has released details of its 2011 model 1198 SP superbike at the Intermot International Motorcycle Fair.

Based on the S model, Ducati claims 170hp and 97lb/ft in a package that features upgraded electronics, a new Ohlins TTX rear shock absorber, a quick-shifter and slipper clutch all as standard equipment.

Upgrades on the SP include a new MotoGP-derived digital dash, a Ducati Quick Shifter, Ducati Performance Slipper Clutch, Ducati Traction Control, and the Ducati Data Analyzer which reviews performance data.

It also has a trick aluminium fuel tank and Brembo Monobloc calipers straight off the showroom floor.

In other news, the 1198 now has Ducati Traction Control system (DTC) fitted as standard equipment along with the quick-shifter and DDA.

Details on the models’ Australian release are yet to be announced.
