Oz SX: Reardon confident for Super X title chances in 2010

Queenslander Dan Reardon is confident he can claim the Super X title for Honda in 2010.

Queenslander Dan Reardon is confident he can claim the Super X title for Honda in 2010.

Cougar Bourbon Honda’s Dan Reardon is confident that he can trade his current ranking of number two in Super X for the number one after the 2010 season, which kicks off in Newcastle tonight.

Reardon has endured a frustrating season onboard Yamahas in the United States this year, however a return to the Honda team in Australia could be just what he needs to finish off the year with a strong performance.

“I feel good and the track’s awesome – I’m excited for the first round, but everybody always is first the first round so we’ll see what everybody has,” the Queenslander said. “It’s awesome to be back on the Honda and back with the Cougar Bourbon team, it’s just like slipping back into an old pair of shoes.

“I always look forward to coming back to Australia and I’m looking forward to a good series – I feel like the title kind of slipped through my fingers last year.

“The people in America are taking an interest in the sport over here, so it can only be beneficial to guys like myself. I’ll sure they’ll keep a close eye over here.”

Reardon is sponsored by Monster Energy for Super X 2010, revealing the deal with a freshly painted Thor helmet during practice this afternoon.
