ASBK: Kirk McCarthy Memorial Award applications open

Motorcycling Australia has announced that applications are now open for the 2010 Kirk McCarthy Memorial Award.

The award program was established by the family of the late Kirk McCarthy in conjunction with a number of industry partners to assist young riders in contesting future Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) seasons.

A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the recipient, who will also receive a replica of the trophy at the annual ASBK presentation dinner.

Applications can be found on the MA website at: www.ma.org.au/forms and close Monday, 15 November.

The award includes more than $10,000 in financial assistance in addition to product, mentoring, and development support.

Previous winners of the award include Cru Halliday, Chas Hern, Mitchell Carr, Ian Andrews and Shannon Etheridge.
