Emilio Calandra was the lucky winner of a Yamaha Rossi RZF-R1SP at Phillip Island.

Yamaha Motor Australia donated a Rossi Limited Edition YZFR1SP to the Royal Flying Doctor Service to raffle at Phillip Island’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix last weekend.

The prize draw was a huge success and raised over $50,000 dollars for the remote region health service. Plus the Rossi R1SP giveaway attracted many visitors to the RFDS stand at the Moto GP Expo tent to help raise awareness of the organisation’s mission to provide excellence in aero-medical and primary healthcare across Australia.

The lucky winner was construction manager Emilio Calandra from Hunters Hill, NSW. However, Emilio did narrow the odds by purchasing over $100 worth of tickets. Emilio was on the verge of obtaining his motorcycle licence, a situatution that will now be fast tracked. He will use the motorcycle for daily riding as well as track days.

“The Limited Edition Rossi R1SP was the perfect vehicle for this purpose,” says YMA communications manager Sean Goldhawk. “There was a huge amount of race goers willing to grab a chance to win the bike with the great man’s signature while Rossi was showcasing his skills out on the track. YMA is delighted to be in a position to assist this landmark Australian organisation.”

The Rossi YZF-R1SP is available at selected Yamaha dealers at $21,299, super low 5.99 percent finance plus $1000 cashback and free GYTR mufflers worth $1590.
