Spectators can expect to see some fast and furious close racing as the series finale of the YMF Loan sponsored 2010 Australian Formula Xtreme Championship rolls into Eastern Creek next weekend on Saturday 30 October and Sunday 31 October.

Kevin Curtain, the long serving ‘King of Xtreme’, has shown a clean pair of heels to his opposition in the previous rounds despite some determined opposition from Honda pilots Grant Hay and Glenn Cullen who have on a number of occasions carved up Curtain all around the tight and twisty parts of the various circuits the series has visited this year.

Ducati-mounted Craig McMartin, the 2009 FX1000 Champion, returns to the AFXC and is keen to show his 2009 championship win was no fluke at hs favourite circuit. The very fast 1198 Ducati rider and current number one plate holder McMartin will certainly shake up the front of the FX1000 grid at Eastern Creek Raceway, McMartin is a spectacular rider on the big Duke and it will be good to see another brand of machine at the front of the pack.

While there are various Honda and Ducati riders intent on proving they have the goods on Curtain, it would be a mistake to forget his team mate Pat Metcalf who at the last round shadowed his more experienced teammate and came close to de-throwning Curtain.

Throw in the always-sideways and very fast R1-mounted Dustin Goldsmith and the current Superstock 1000 Champion Cru Haliday, also on a R1 who the last time around at Eastern Creek proved on the Saturday to be the fastest rider on the circuit in the FX1000 grid, and all is looking good for a huge tussle at the front.

One wild card that no one should discount at Eastern Creek is the Motohansa BMW S1000 piloted by Jeremy Crowe. The BMW’s are incredibly fast in a straight line and could blow the doors off of their Japanese and other European rivals at the Creek. Time will tell!

In the Formula Oz (race what you brung) class new Yamaha signing Glenn Allerton will put some Yamaha sting into a class that so far this year that has been dominated by Kawasakis and Hondas. The racing at the front of Formula Oz will be just as hectic as in FX1000 with a number of exceptional riders with a lot to prove if they can beat Allerton the 2008 Superbike champion in his debut ride on a Yamaha R1.

With over a 125 entries received so far across the five classes and all of them fighting it out for Australian championship status the series finale will be one not to miss.

As seen at previous rounds of the 2010 AFXC, Saturday and Sunday are rounds of separate championships with racing happening from approximately 10:30am to 4:30pm each day. The premier Australian Formula Xtreme Championship events run on Sunday 31 October, while Saturday the 30th plays host to the separate and just as fiercely fought for FX Nationals Championship series.

Spectators can choose to go for one day of 15 races or double up the excitement with another 15 races on Sunday. Each class including the premier FX1000 class is scheduled for three races per day and long standing Formula Xtreme sponsor YMF Loan and Yamaha has taken up the series finales naming rights sponsorship at Eastern Creek Raceway.
