Young Aussie Jed Metcher has secured a full-time Superstock 600 ride in Europe for 2011.

Australian Jed Metcher has signed up to race full-time for the newly-formed MtM-RT Motorsports team in the Superstock 600 FIM Cup for next season.

Victorian Metcher, 20, made an excellent impression at Magny-Cours in France by taking his first race win in the class on his first attempt, albeit after a crash had eliminated the leaders towards the end.

“It is a big relief to know that I can go home with a secure ride in Europe in these tough times,” he said. “It’s very important to prepare mentally and physically for a racing season and this security, thanks to Rob Vennegoor and Ludo van der Veeken means that I can start this preparation early in order to ensure that we have a successful season.

“My aim is to finish on the podium at every round and also to impress the likes of the world championship paddock by winning the championship in my first year. I believe with the combined efforts of MtM and RT Motorsports this is very achievable!”

MtM and IDM campaigners RT Motorsports team have now decided to pool their resources for next year, and with Metcher already under contract, the name of a second rider will be announced shortly.
