Former World Junior Motocross Champion Jay Wilson has signed with Coastal KTM to contest the 2011 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals in the Under 19s class aboard the all-new KTM 250SX-F.

The 16-year-old, originally from Glen Innes in New South Wales, finished first in the 2009 FIM World Junior Motocross Championship in the 85cc class and has a long list of first place finishes throughout his career to date.

“I am really excited to extend my relationship with KTM into 2011, I’ve ridden them for the past few years with the help of the GMR Motorex KTM team and would like to thank them for all their help and support,” Wilson said.

“I can’t wait to start my senior debut with the Coastal KTM Team as they have a really well run outfit and I think I will fit straight in there. With the experience that team manager Phil Bond has to offer I think we will be a championship winning team.”

Bond is also looking forward to having Wilson aboard for the new year.

“We are really looking forward to Jay joining our team here at Coastal KTM,” Bond said. “With the help of Coastal KTM, Motorex, KTM Australia and other team sponsors, we know we will be able to offer Jay the right equipment to get the job done.

“With an Under19s championship under our belt already, we know we have what it takes to get Jay on the top spot of the podium and we will work hard to get him there. We will be working with Jay over the next few months to get him ready for next year’s nationals.”

The Coastal KTM team won the Under 19s class in 2010 with Victorian Josh Cachia, who is expected to transfer to the JDR Motorex KTM factory team for his rookie Pro Lites season.
