General: HART-assisted rides help prepare for peak season

Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) has teamed up with the Shire of Yarra Ranges to offer motorcyclists a chance to hone their skills in time for the peak road riding season in Melbourne.

The City of Whittlesea have also joined the program this year by helping to subsidise additional rides, the first of which took place through the Kinglake area on Saturday, October 9th.

During the rides – which take place on some of the best roads in Melbourne – suitably qualified HART instructors give one on one feedback to participants about hazard perception and avoidance, setting up for corners and other skills not covered in the Victorian licensing system.

Participants are grouped as either ‘beginner’ or ‘experienced’, and Learner riders are more than welcome.

Victorian HART Manager, Grant Carr said they are very much looking forward to continuing the association with the Shire and to developing a new partnership with the City of Whittlesea.

“Being able to offer this unique program is a real bonus to Melbourne riders as it isn’t often they will get feedback from internationally recognised instructors at such a reasonable price.”

“We are thrilled that both the City and the Shire are keen to be involved in this initiative.”

The next ride will take place on 7th November, once again in the City of Whittlesea. The Shire of Yarra Ranges will conduct their final ride for the year on 5th December. Dates for 2011 will be released shortly and will be published at www.hartridertraining.com.au
