In a brand new event at the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, in Tasmania, Team USA has won the inaugural Australia vs. USA Challenge.

The challenge was a relay race featuring five riders from each country, each completing a lap and a half each before tagging the next rider in line to continue for their country.

Starting the race were Lites rivals Matt Moss and PJ Larsen, with Moss handing over the reins to first for Team Australia.

Simmonds then took over for Australia, taking on Alessi, with the Americans having all the work to do from there.

A mega start was had from Simmonds against Alessi, the pair on JDR Motorex KTM 350SX-Fs, with Simmonds extending the lead for Australia.

Marmont took the lead for Australia next, with Brayton chasing after being tagged by Alessi – the Yamaha teammates next to go head-to-head.

Brayton was able to close the gap on Marmont in a super-aggressive lap, however Marmont was able to maintain the lead for Australia before handing the lead to Jake Moss.

Moss had the challenge of Hansen as the top Americans took charge, with Hansen instantly attacking in the first corner. Moss was able to hold on in an incredible lap, holding off the pressure, handing the lead over to Dan Reardon for Australia.

Reardon had veteran American Kevin Windham on his tail, the Cougar Bourbon Honda Racing teammates on the gas in a 1.5-lap affair.
