The Formula Xtreme Summer Series looks to be in jeopardy after it was announced today that Eastern Creek Ride Days has secured additional dates at the venue for 3-4 December.

The dates were originally booked for the Australasian FX Superbike Championship season opener, organised by Australian Road and Track Rider Promotions, however the ECRD announcement confirms that at least the opening round has been dropped from the schedule.

Speculation has been rife that the Summer Series – which was scheduled to be contested over the first three weekends in December at Eastern Creek, Wakefield Park and Winton respectively – has been struggling to gain competitor interest, with the Eastern Creek cancellation the first sign of concern for the series.

There has been no official indication as to whether the Wakefield Park or Winton rounds will go ahead – with the finale also scheduled to host the FX Motocross Championship on the same weekend.

ARTRP manager Terry O’Neill was unavailable for comment when contacted by MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.

Stay tuned for an update when it becomes available.
